Serious Gaming
A First Exploration
Three focused steps to experience play, see patterns, and connect insights to your real work.
Many teams expect a Serious Game to deliver the solution.
In our practice, the real value lies elsewhere: you experience dynamics together, recognize patterns, and learn how to transfer what you saw in the game back to your own context.
This demo makes that transfer explicit in three compact steps.
The 3 Core Steps
1. Play together — TeamUp (collaboration under light pressure)
A short, web-based game to warm up, lower the threshold, and surface natural behaviors: decision-making, coordination, communication.
Outcome: a shared experience and a first common language for “what we do when it gets busy.”
2. See differently — The “wrong game, right insight” example
We deliberately choose a game that is structurally similar to your challenge, but not about your topic. By creating distance from daily details, people stop defending habits and start seeing patterns: capacity, flow, bottlenecks, roles, negotiation, power.
Outcome: “Aha, this is what we do, just with different labels.”

3. Make it relevant — Reflection & Transfer
We close with a reflection:
Which patterns felt familiar?
Where do we see the same bottlenecks or feedback loops at work?
What first experiments could we try back in our daily practice?
Outcome: shared language, sharper observation, and clear ideas to try in the real world.
Optional Add-On: Showcase of a Purpose-Built Game
If you’d like, we can add a showcase of a large, complex board game that was designed for a specific situation.
This gives you a taste of what’s possible when a Serious Game is created from the ground up for unique challenges.
What this demo does (and doesn’t) promise
You won’t leave with “the solution.”
You will leave with shared experience, new language, and sharper ways of looking at your challenges.
The real value comes from connecting play back to your work.
Practicalities
Duration: ~3 hours (adaptable)
Format: on-site or online/hybrid
Group size: works well with 8–20 participants
Investment: priced as a high-value workshop (preparation + facilitation). We’ll gladly prepare a precise quote once we know your context.
Is this a fit for you?
Your work is complex (multiple stakeholders, shifting constraints).
You want learning through experience, not slides.
You’re willing to act on insights after the session.

Next Step:
Co-Design Your Own Serious Game Session
From demo to design: make it yours
A demo gives you a taste of Serious Gaming. But the real question is: what does this look like in your reality?
That’s where a co-design session comes in. Together, we translate your real questions, tensions, or aspirations into a tailored learning design.
In advance, you share 3–5 real situations or “what if…” ideas that are alive in your team. In the session, we:
Map those challenges together.
Explore first scenarios.
Identify which games, structures, or coaching could support you.
The result: a first prototype of how Serious Gaming could help your team, grounded in your actual work.
